GE XL44 range. Added new igniter when I turn on the oven I see the igniter glow really bright but I start smelling gas but no flame starts below.

I once had a customer replaced his own igniter and put it in upside down, it was so high up that the gas was passing completely below the glowing coil for several seconds before it would finally ignite, usually with a loud booming sound. If that's not your problem, then there's most likely a problem with the gas safety valve, to which the igniter is connected by wires. Replace that and your gas smell should go away. Just be sure to check the fitting joints with some soapy water after changing.

Il Premio
Istituito nel 2009, il premio di drammaturgia DCQ-Giuliano Gennaio consiste nella messa in scena del testo vincitore da parte della compagnia DoveComeQuando all'interno della sua collana di spettacoli intitolati all'amico e attore scomparso Giuliano Gennaio, morto prematuramente il 20 aprile 2008.
La I edizione è stata vinta dal testo "Soriana" di Flavio Marigliani
(in scena a chiudere la Rassegna DCQ Linea d'ombra); la II da "Traditori" di Sergio Casesi.
Nel mese di aprile sarà pubblicato il bando della III edizione.

DOVECOMEQUANDO
È nostra convinzione che il bello stia nell’imparare e non nel ripetere innumerevoli volte e senza sforzo quanto già appreso; e che per fare del buon teatro non sia necessario disporre di mezzi imponenti - anzi.
I nostri spettacoli nascono intorno alla volontà di ricreare, qualunque sia il testo, un’atmosfera “altra” dalla realtà quotidiana, in un costante rimando al sogno, all'incubo o a mondi lontani dall’esperienza comune.


TEMA DELLA RASSEGNA
La linea d'ombra. Laddove le cose iniziano a cambiare forma, dimenticano sé, viaggiano incerte e, lente, abbandonano braccia, colore, spigoli, materia e nome; prendono a rivelarsi per quello che non sono state, magari per quello che desiderano; cambiano luce e verità, forse significato. Il confine tra il giorno e la notte è la porta tra due mondi; il chiaroscuro è il segreto della natura, lo spessore di una prospettiva, la radice di un punto di vista, inaspettato. Da un profilo nasce una storia. La linea d'ombra traghetta l'eclissi dal buio all'abbaglio e viceversa: cosa c'è lungo la sua direttiva? Cos'accade nell’orizzonte degli eventi? E un passo dopo? Quali occhi, quali mani, quali sensi possederemo noi? Il perimetro delle cose resterà sempre così come ci insegnano a disegnarlo?
Funamboli, equilibristi delle dimensioni, camminano in questa trincea, ultima e prima linea di un nuovo modo di dare e avere conoscenza: noi vi diamo il benvenuto.
Può una sola linea raggiungere la profondità?
Sì, se è d'ombra.

STRIPTEASE IN ALTO MARE (fuori concorso)

Autore polacco noto soprattutto per il suo testo Emigranti, Mrozek esordì con testi che i più classificarono come pezzi dell'assurdo, malgrado la contraria opinione dello stesso autore.
Tra quelli rientrano i due atti unici In alto mare e Striptease in cui l'autore colloca i suoi personaggi in situazioni che, dopo pochissimi minuti, da plausibili (per quanto bizzarre) diventano grottesche, assumendo contorni via via sempre più surreali mentre lo svolgimento segue i binari delle premesse con magistrale lucidità e agrodolce ironia.
I suoi protagonisti, infatti, sono sempre alle prese con un potere esterno, che esige senza dare troppe spiegazioni e tuttavia da loro mai messo realmente in discussione (eppure, come dimostrano i recenti esempi nordafricani, il potere non è tale solo finché come tale viene riconosciuto?) e a cui, in un modo o nell'altro, finiscono sempre per adeguarsi, fino all'estremo sacrificio.
Nell'osservare le reazioni dell'uomo comune al potere - anzi, al Potere -, l'autore riesce ad astenersi dal giudicare: egli registra e basta, lasciando ogni considerazione al lettore e allo spettatore, nella convinzione che tutti abbiano gli occhi per vedere; e se quel che manca, a volte, è la volontà di guardare, bisogna trovare un modo per attirare l'attenzione.
E i testi di Mrozek - divertenti a volte anche al limite del comico - ci riescono benissimo.

La notte in cui Oscar tornò a casa è solo la storia di quattro amici cresciuti assieme in un paesino sperduto tra i monti, che si ritrovano una notte, in un pub, a bere birra. Ed è proprio in quel solo che corre inesorabile, come un treno impazzito, la linea d’ombra di tutta la pièce.
La notte in cui Oscar tornò a casa è, infatti, il lato oscuro della semplicità di una amicizia tra trentenni, cresciuta e cementatasi in un posto dimenticato da dio. È solo la storia di Matilde – che fa la cameriera nel pub e da quel paesino sarebbe disposta a tutto, pur d’andarsene - di Bibop – simpatico ubriacone perdigiorno che per vivere fa il boscaiolo - di Carlo – l’unico dei quattro che ha studiato e fa l’avvocato – e di Oscar, che è tornato in paese quella notte stessa, dopo essere stato in galera per rapina, tradito dal quinto amico, Martino, che l’ha venduto alla polizia ed è scappato chissà dove col bottino.
La notte in cui Oscar tornò a casa è solo questo, punto.

Doping è al tempo stesso un monologo, una performance dal vivo e una corsa contro il tempo. Il senso è quello della vertigine, del labirinto, dell’acidità, della droga, del doping. Non tutti ne escono e sicuramente nessuno resta quello di prima.
La drammaturgia è volutamente a brandelli, va avanti e indietro nel tempo, è un’incursione nel cervello di qualcuno, è un flusso di coscienza allucinato, è accompagnata da una videoproiezione e un insieme di suoni, è una serie di racconti e insieme un elenco straniato di droghe, drogati, effetti, è un incubo o la fine di una vita, è il tentativo di non essere consequenziali ma nemmeno mimetici, è sicuramente una spirale.
Un testo che ci sembra metafora più che mai urgente di un ossimoro che si sta facendo sempre più reale e che tanto la cronaca ci racconta, fino a renderlo parte della nostra quotidianità.
Non si vogliono dare risposte o dare giudizi. In questo gioco siamo le vittime o i carnefici?
I giudici o i giudicati? Siamo sicuri che non ci riguardi?

CHE FINE HA FATTO "BABY JANE"?

Due sorelle. Una grande casa. Entrambe un tempo famose, belle e fortunate. Ora il tempo implacabile le ha resi sfiorite deluse, legate al passato e ai ricordi... e pazze. Irrimediabilmente. Una ancora legata al passato di ex bimba prodigio e l’altra costretta ad una sedia a rotelle. Dal racconto noir “Che fine ha fatto Baby Jane”? di Henry Farrell e dall’omonimo film di Robert Aldrich, l’adattamento di Massimiliano Bolcioni estrapola i concetti e i simboli chiave che fecero del film un cult, prendendone in considerazione non solo i motivi originali ma anche le storiche derivazioni.
Ecco quindi “Baby Jane” diventare qui finalmente quel mostro dell’inconscio e della psiche che è, in un’atemporale dimensione dove tutti i cliché vengono esplorati ed evidenziati fino al punto di vedere “la piccola Baby Jane Hudson” partorita da una mente materna anziché paterna distruggere la vita di due fratelli anziché di due sorelle, e le “illogiche” terrificanti conseguenze, che renderanno il tutto un’autentica “tragedia greca contemporanea”, disseppellendo anche temi profondi e scomodi all’epoca sacrificati per vari motivi, quali, come nel nostro caso, l’omosessualità e il tema del diverso inteso anche come condizione fisica. Il tutto sotto l’egida di un sacro stato d’ansia che la messa in scena costruisce e protrae per tutto il tempo.

ANNA E ALTRE STORIE...

Cinque attori che si modellano all’interno di un percorso di “corti” teatrali, dove attraverso un’alternanza di forte comicità, così come una forte drammaturgia, i vari personaggi da loro interpretati affrontano temi umani, personali, di coppia, di vita...
Coppie in crisi, madri coraggio, psicosi calcistica, professori dalla spiccata sensibilità, storie dalla profonda umanità e forza, sono alcuni dei tanti temi che compongono l’alveare dello spettacolo, in cui un sottile filo tiene uniti tutti i vari quadri.
La musica segue l’evolversi delle situazioni, accompagnando e sottolineando i passaggi in cui i personaggi mettono a nudo il loro lato umano.
Nato anni fa da un format che suscitò molto successo di pubblico e critica, lo spettacolo è composto anche da alcuni “corti” che negli anni sono stati rappresentati anche all’interno della rassegna Il Garofano Verde del Teatro Belli di Roma.

È l'ombra del proprio essere, quello vero, profondo, sconosciuto o dimenticato. Ognuno proietta un’immagine di un personaggio creato ad uso e consumo altrui. Ognuno mostra la faccia per nascondere il viso. Ognuno è “colui che lo si crede”. Ma la sua ombra porta con sé il carico d’angoscia della coscienza della propria debolezza, delle passioni violente, dell'essere aldilà di credere e di voler essere...
In quell'ombra si cela il mostro dal cuore spezzato dal peso di vivere una vita progettata da altri.
C’è una linea d'ombra tra il personaggio e l'essenza del sé... Quando quella linea si oltrepassa si può scoprire di liberare il mostro e condurlo al delitto.

SORIANA (fuori concorso)

Con Soriana, il giovane Flavio Marigliani ha tessuto una storia aperta a più interpretazioni e registri scenici, anche molto differenti tra loro.
Strutturalmente ciclico per certi versi e non lineare per altri, il testo, dai vaghi sapori ioneschiani, si forma intorno a una coppia in cui qualcosa comincia a spegnersi - mentre qualcos'altro va accendendosi; in cui le forze attrattive, sebbene ancora presenti, stentano a bilanciare quelle repulsive, fino a schiantarsi... per poi ricominciare daccapo.
Lungo il processo, un meccanismo simile a una danza di morte, in cui lei e lui assumono i panni, contemporaneamente e vicendevolmente, di vittima e carnefice, del partner e di se stessi, in una spirale autodistruttiva che straborda anche nell'incubo, grazie anche al punto di vista prescelto: quello di lei, di Soriana, colta mentre va progressivamente perdendo il contatto con la realtà e si rende conto di perderlo.

De openingsavond op vrijdag 14 mei van de XL Kunstmanifestatie kent een gevarieerd programma met optredens van The Wieners, Vincent Bijlo, Rosa Sky en Bas Haring. Daarnaast is er de mogelijkheid om de premiere van het locatietheaterstuk Sierarm bij te wonen, of een bezoek te brengen aan een van de filmcontainers. XL De Ateliers, De Amstel 60, 8253 PC Dronten-West
Het bestuur van Stichting XL De Ateliers stelt het zeer op prijs u te mogen verwelkomen als
participant / performer van de XL Kunstmanifestatie 2010. Ook de 7e editie van het festival
vindt plaats in en om het pand van XL De Ateliers in Dronten-West.
Tijdens de komende kunstmanifestatie onderzoeken we hoe de Kunsten zich verhouden tot
de Natuur. Geen diepzinnige betogen of discussies, maar we proberen het waar mogelijk aan
te raken. In het verleden is de discussie immer hevig geweest, van Aristoteles via Schelling
naar het huidige Biomimicry. De tegenstellingen zijn niet heel groot, maar wel essentieel. Waar
Aristoteles de natuur nog als een hogere, te imiteren macht beschouwde, stelt Schelling dat de
kunst verheven is aan de natuur. In de biomimicry lijkt dit weer samen te komen. Leren van de
natuur staat voorop, maar de kunst dient onafhankelijk te zijn. Dit alles brengen wij terug tot
de volgende metafoor. Na het oorspronkelijke Oergras (de natuur), kwam een lange weg van
het Veredelde Gras (beter dan de natuur). En nu zijn we aangekomen bij het Kunstgras. En dat
is dan ook het thema van deze kunstmanifestatie: ‘Kunstgras’.
Sinds 2004 organiseert Stichting XL De Ateliers jaarlijks de XL Kunstmanifestatie. Vorig jaar
kende het festival haar 6e editie. Een editie, met veel bezoekers, aandacht van provinciale en
landelijke media en een hoogwaardige artistieke invulling. Vorig jaar hebben we na vijf ge-
slaagde en leerzame jaren het festival breder en met meer diepgang in de markt neergezet.
Een koers die we verder willen gaan uitbouwen de komende jaren. De vele enthousiaste en
positieve kritieken die we mochten ontvangen van bezoekers, artiesten en de media steunen
ons hierin.
Om de oorspronkelijke gedachte van XL De Ateliers geen geweld aan te doen, blijven we de
optredens, voorstellingen en workshops aanbieden voor relatief kleine aantallen publiek. De
grootte varieert van 10 tot maximaal 100 bezoekers per keer. We willen via deze weg ama-
teurkunstenaars, liefhebbers en belangstellenden op een toegankelijke manier in aanraking
brengen met professionele kunstenaars en artiesten. De aanraakbaarheid is een voorwaarde
en wordt zeer gewaardeerd.
We willen graag nog eens benadrukken welk een bijzonder festival het is. Iets dat goed loopt
wordt al snel vanzelfsprekend gevonden. De XL Kunstmanifestatie is uniek in Flevoland en in
Nederland. De optredens, setting en kwaliteit. Het zijn allemaal aspecten die het tot een uniek
geheel maken!
